2 Chainz Biography

Tauheed Epps is an American rapper and hip-hop artist better known by the name of 2 Chainz. A native of Georgia, he began his musical career by forming the hip hop duo Playaz Circle, along with an old high school buddy. Their first album, titled Supply and Demand' was a moderate success. Epps released the album 'Based On a T.R.U. Story', his debut studio album. It debuted at number one on US Billboard 200. It was a great commercial success. Within the first week of release, it sold 147,000 copies. After the release of his album, there was no turning back. He became famous as one of the most prominent rappers. He's been shortlisted for six Grammy awards to date, out of which he has won one, for his track "No Problem". He kindled controversy in 2013 when he was arrested on board on a flight departing from the Los Angeles International Airport as his bag included promethazine and marijuana. His brush with law hasn't affected his popularity. The fourth and newest studio album , 'Pretty Girls Like Trap Music' released in June 2017. "Based on the T.R.U." Story', the debut studio album of 2 Chainz, can be considered to be his debut album, as well as the most successful album of his career. The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200. It also sold 147,000 copies within a single week. It was eventually sold more than 623,000 times throughout the course of the year. It was nominated at the 55th Grammy Awards for 'Best Rap Album'. Many reviews were mixed. 2 Chainz married Kesha Wade in 2013. The couple is the proud parents of three kids, Heavenly, Harmony, Halo.
