Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff was born May 3, 1986. She was a student at the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris. Her role includes Loup (2009) and Sleepless Night (2011). She portrays the role of Mantis, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was the daughter of a Korean mother, as well as an American-Russian father. Her father was consul in Quebec City, Canada. Her father was a painter Eugene Klementieff. Since it sounds like the Korean words for "spring" or "tiger" her parents named their daughter Pom. Klementieff was a resident of Canada before her family moved extensively due to her father's job. They lived in Japan as well as the Ivory Coast, before settling in France. Klementieff's father, who died at the age of 5 from cancer, was her mother. She also suffered from schizophrenia and couldn't care for her kids. Klementieff was raised with her paternal uncle and aunt. Her uncle, whom she herself described as "like [her] first father," died on Klementieff’s 18th birthday. The older brother of her took his own life seven years later. This time, it happened on her 25th. Klementieff was able to study law following the passing of her uncle, but she did not find this career path attractive. She was also a waitress in France and a salesperson. Her first acting experience began when she was 19years old at the Cours Florent theatre school in Paris. A few months into her education, she was awarded an acting competition which awarded her free classes for two years with the school's best teachers. Klementieff was the stepdaughter of Catherine Deneuve in Apres lui (2006) the film that was her first role as an actor professionally. The filming process took three days. One scene had Klementieff pushing someone down the set steps, and she fell. Gael Morel saved that shot for the final film. Loup (2009) was her first leading role in a film. It's an French movie about a tribe of Siberian mountain reindeer herders. Klementieff spent filming hours in an isolated camp away from the nearest village. The temperature dropped to below zero when filming.
