As a child, she was hospitalized for six months before being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. His skating career with his co-pilot Denis Samokhin made him famous. In 1993, the pair were ranked 8th at the Junior World Championship and in 1994, they were 7th. After a brief collaboration with Maxim Kachanov, they placed fifth at the Goodwill Games of 1994. Then in 1995 she teamed together with Vladimir Fedorov. Their partnership proved equally successful since they both won the Finlandia Trophy twice and also took part for the Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Together, they achieved greater things. But the highlight was their 15th place finish that they won at the World Championships of 1998.
